The Cross-Polytechnic Girls in Tech (GIT) committee was founded on 13 May 2022 by Krystal Lim. In a significant step towards promoting women in technology, the Singapore Women in Tech (SG WiT), driven by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), and the five polytechnics (Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, and Temasek Polytechnic) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IMDA. This collaboration aims to retain, develop, and deepen the interest of girls in pursuing careers in the tech industry. Members of the Cross-Polytechnic GIT will benefit from various programmes that include partnerships with industry leaders, opportunities to enhance their tech skills, exposure to emerging technologies, and insights into tech career pathways.
